REMDESIVIR: THE ULTIMATE TREATMENT FOR COVID-19

An antivaral drug that slows down the deadly virus covid-19 "Remdesivir" on distribution to  covid-19 most infected countries.

What is remdesivir?

Redemsiver is a nucleotide analog prodrug. on may 1st 2020 the US FDA issued EUA of remdesivir to allow emergency use of the agent for severe Covid-19 (confirmed or suspected) in hospitalized adults or children.

Remdesivir was studied in clinical trials for Ebola virus infections but showed limited benefits. Remdesivir has been shown to inhibit replication of other human coronaviruses associated with high morbidity in tissue cultures, including severe acute respiration syndrome Coronavirus (SARS-COV) in 2003 and  middle east respiratory syndrome (MERS-COV) in 2012.

An agreement was made between Gilead and five generic pharmaceutical companies in India and Pakistan to help make the medicine for 127 countries.

Remdesivir cut the duration of symptoms from 15 days to 11 in clinical trials at hospitals around the world.

Maker of Remdesivir, Gilead sclience, said it would donate his initial supply of the medicine. The federal government is in charge of coordinating where the treatment is to be shipped, with, "hospitals in cities most heavily impacted Covid-19" getting the top priority.
